Deepika Padukone To Act In The Remake Of Sridevi’s Hit Film?
Deepika Padukone is on top of her game right now. Directors are approaching her with scripts written especially keeping her in mind. Any project that she becames a part of, becomes the talk of the town. Amid such a scenario, if we come across a report stating that the leggy beauty might have been signed on for the remake of none other than the legendary actress, late Sridevi’s film, how would you react? Surprised?
We are sure this must have excited you more than surprising you, right? Well, who doesn’t want to watch the numero uno diva reliving cinematic moments once beautifully enacted by Sridevi!
Reportedly, the four decades old superhit classic was made by a producer from the South and directed by a Bollywood director. It is also said that talks are on to acquire the rights of the film and Deepika Padukone has been informed about the same. The concerned parties aren’t supposed to reveal any details, even the name of the film, unless the deal is sealed.
All said and done, watching Deepika in Sridevi’s shoes would definitely be a visual treat for hard core cinema lovers. The yesteryear actress, who took her last breath early this year (February 2018), is celebrated for her exquisite beauty, brilliant dancing skills and excellent acting chops. A brand in herself, she ruled the industry for a long time and gave us cinematic gems like Chandni, Nagin, Chaalbaaz, and more recently, English Vinglish and Mom (her last movie). Deepika sounds like an apt and interesting fit to star in a remake originally done by the late actress.
Deepika’s last film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmavat set the silver screen as well as ticket windows afire. The epic period drama saw the remarkable actress displaying some awe-inspiring acting streaks. So far as Padukone’s other projects are concerned, apart from reading scripts currently, the actress has signed on the dotted line for a Vishal Bhardwaj film alongside the seasoned actor Irrfan Khan. The film revolves around the life of a mafia queen. But unfortunately, since Irrfan has been undergoing some major treatment for neuoroendocrine tumour (a rare form of cancer), the film has been stalled for now and would be shot only once the actor returns fully recovered.
