SUFNA – I came across a wonderful simple Punjabi film that is now streaming on Amazon Prime. It s called “SUFNA” – Starring Ammy Virk & Tania. It has beautiful songs composed by B Praak, and the films treatment suits the Punjabi earthiness that we cherish in their simple love stories.Such pure love stories still exist in rural villages back in Punjab.

The film tells a tale of a young girl who becomes an orphan during the Kashmir war. Her mom was Muslim, and her Father was a Indian Army soldier. She is now adopted by her Father’s relatives. Like “Cinderella”, she must do her duties of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the family, and go with them for cotton picking in the farms to help out. She dream of her father to return, and take her away. Instead she finds a simpleton man who fits the dream image of her father.

Can he become that soldier that will take her way, and build that better life for her? Can that “Dream” – “SUFNA” – come true? Then you have to watch this film. The film gets a 3 star recommendation. Enjoy!! Courtesy – Awesome TV & Being Filmy
