THE BATMAN – Actor Robert Pattinson gives a good foot forward, and leaves a lasting impression on his take on playing the “The Dark Knight”, or rather – “The Cape Crusader”, in “THE BATMAN”. But remember no one can mess with the Chris Nolan’s trilogy of Batman with Christian Bale. Like the comics, all is not well in Gotham City.
There is always crime, and it is upto young billionaire Bruce Wayne to put on the mask and be their to make the city a safer place. This time we have Zoey Kravits as “Catwoman” with a romantic angle thrown in. We have Colin Farrell, as the “Penguin”, who is impressive in his new get up. John Turturro plays “Falconi” – a mob boss, who has a dark past with the Wayne family. Paul Dano as “The Riddler” gives his version, a kooky and a realistic approach.
The action and violence in this version looks more believable. However the film is a bit lengthy, and that does take away the strength from this adaptation of this comic caper. It felt that there are many plot lines, or rather episodes joined into one big story. A little trimming could have helped. The film is still worth a watch.
