THE POST – History does repeat itself in various forms. It happens with the media, and journalism as well. In Steven Speilberg’s – THE POST”, which stars Meryl Streep & Tom Hanks tells the story during the early 70’s where “The Washington Post” newspaper was going through challenges to stay afloat.

They came a cross classified studies of the Vietnam War, that appeared to be a losing proposition, and a bad idea that was kept hidden by three Presidencies in a span of over a decade. During the Nixon administration, the President wanted certain things to be prohibited from coming out in the open.

This kind of controlling the news and denying information was apparent. Today the talk collusion is appearing even now in today’s Trump administration is shaping our American Government and in our policies. The film shows solidarity among the press, and that the battle of freedom of the press shall overcome and speak the truth, when prohibited.

The film is an eye opener, and Meryl Streep as Katherine Graham, who was the publisher of the leading newspaper at that time, plays her role with great restraint and sensibility. The film gets a 3 star recommendation. Courtesy by Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
