THE BIG SICK – Coming from Judd Apatow productions, this off beat film called, “THE BIG SICK” – is co-produced and written by Kumail Nanjiani, who plays himself as a struggling comedian from Chicago, who faces the struggles of being of Pakistani origin, who falls in love outside his community with the love his life Emily, who is played by Zoe Kazan.

The film goes down that middle of the road light romantic love story that will touch your heart. Sometimes a calamity in life, or a sickness will make you aware of those that are dear to you and whom you value.

Surprisingly it is the supporting cast that really brings that earthiness to these diverse families, who are portrayed by Ray Romano, Holly Hunter, and Anupam Kher . The naturalness and the sensitivity between the South Carolina family and the Pakistani family uniting as one, is the message that makes this a feel good movie. The film gets a 3 star recommendation.
