Amitabh Bachchan & Priyanka Chopra’s Responses Upset Tanushree Dutta

Former actress Tanushree Dutta has recently alleged veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss a decade ago. She has spoken about the incident in the past as well, and as raised her voice yet again, Bollywood came forward in her support. Of course, some played safe in order to stay away from the controversy, while some ended up being misconstrued, or so we think.

At the recent trailer launch of the upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan, when the megastar Amitabh Bachchan was asked to share his views on the controversy, he replied, “Neither am I Tanushree, nor am I Nana Patekar. So how can I comment on this?”

This has irked Tanushree and the lady expressed her displeasure in a recent interview to Hindustan Times thus, “I’m hurt, as these are people who do movies on social causes. They play roles in films and the audience applauds. But when it comes to standing up and doing something about what is happening in front of you, there are these evasive statements that don’t make sense.”

In another incident, it was our global diva Priyanka Chopra whose tweet didn’t go down well the former onscreen stunner. It began with Farhan Akhtar’s tweet, which also happened to be one of the first Bollywood supports for Tanushree. As journalist Janice Sequeira supported the former actress, mentioning in her tweet that she was on set on the day of the alleged harassment, Farhan retweet it, voicing his opinion, “This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned.”

Chopra shared Akhtar’s tweet, writing, “Agreed..the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors.” Now Priyanka calling Dutta a survivor miffed the latter and she reacted thus, “Well, it’s amazing. She (Priyanka) has finally decided to join the bandwagon. It’s probably a smart thing to do at this point of time. But I just want people to know that I am not going to be reduced to a survivor. I have a name, I have a story and I have this truth that I am trying to get out because it’s not for me but for people who will come forward in the generations to come.”

Though Priyanka’s intention doesn’t really look bad or anything like she wanted to upset Tanushree, she definitely has annoyed the former actress.
