Audible and Brock Media will release a brand-new audio drama of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Available on September 9, 2025, this Audible Original will be available in six languages—English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
The release is timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth. All versions will have a local star cast, with English-language leads Marisa Abela as Elizabeth Bennet and Harris Dickinson as Mr. Darcy.
A Modern Take on a Literary Classic
This audio production remains faithful to Austen’s original novel, yet provides a richer insight into Elizabeth’s innermost thoughts. It’s penned by Lulu Raczka and directed by Dionne Edwards, who makes her audio drama debut.
Aurelie de Troyer, Audible’s Head of Regional Content, described the production as “thrilling, modern, and emotionally electric.”

Marisa Abela on Playing Elizabeth

Cinematic Sound and Original Score
The adaptation includes Dolby Atmos sound design by Brain Audio and an original score by Grammy-nominated Morgan Kibby. Together, they aspire to make the narrative cinematic and emotionally resonant.
Global Rollout and What’s Next
The English version will launch in the UK, US, Canada, India, and Australia. Information regarding other language versions, such as release dates and local casts, will be announced later in 2025.
This new production is part of Audible’s award-winning originals such as 1984, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, and the Dickens trilogy directed by Sam Mendes.
