Director Ra Karthik explains that Made In Korea came into existence due to curiosity regarding the commonality between Tamil and Korean culture.
“Korean culture has permeated India in-depth over the last decade,” said Karthik. “During research, I was surprised to see the universal values and tales between the two cultures. Made In Korea honours these ties in a slice-of-life narrative imbued with optimism and happiness.”
Priyanka Mohan on Playing Shenba
For Priyanka Mohan, the film provided both emotional depth and cultural exploration.
“The freshness and strength of the story appealed to me immediately,” she stated. “Since I enjoy Korean dramas, being a part of an Indo-Korean production felt very special. I identified strongly with Shenba’s feelings. When Karthik sir read out the script, I felt that I needed to be a part of it. Being a part of an original series on Netflix makes it even more special.”
