Disney and YouTube TV Reach Multi-Year Deal to Restore ESPN, ABC & Disney Channels

Disney and YouTube TV have signed a deal that lasts for several years. This ends a blackout of important Disney-owned channels like ESPN and ABC on the popular live TV streaming service that lasted for almost two weeks. Subscribers can now watch all Disney channels and previously recorded content again, which brings back the full value of the YouTube TV experience.

The blackout started on October 30, 2025, because YouTube TV and Disney couldn’t agree on carriage fees. This meant that subscribers couldn’t watch 21 major channels during a time when there was a lot of sports and election coverage. The public fight made users angry, and YouTube TV and Disney blamed each other for the negotiations.

With the new deal, people who use YouTube TV can once again watch all of ESPN’s sports shows, ABC’s local stations, and all of Disney’s other shows. The deal also keeps YouTube TV’s options open for future offerings and lets you bundle Disney Plus and Hulu subscriptions with some YouTube TV plans.

Disney executives stressed how the deal showed how valuable their programming is, while YouTube TV said they were sorry for the trouble and thanked subscribers for their patience. This resolution not only brings back popular channels, but it also makes sure that subscribers won’t have to deal with Disney blackouts like this again in the near future.

This deal ends one of the most heated carriage disputes in streaming history and strengthens YouTube TV’s status as a top live TV streaming service with high-quality sports and entertainment content.
