Stranger Things Season 5 dropped exclusively on Netflix, with the first four episodes landing at 5 p.m. PT on November 26, 2025. But the huge demand from viewers caused the platform to crash, generating error messages-that looked suspiciously like they belonged to “Nailed It!”. The outage lasted roughly three to five minutes, until services came back online for most users. The sci-fi horror series has done it before, too, although Netflix increased its bandwidth for the show by 30%, according to co-creator Ross Duffer.
Miffed fans complained on social media: “NETFLIX FIX YOURSELF RIGHT NOW BRO,” they wrote, as thousands reported problems on Downdetector. Netflix confirmed brief streaming outages on TV devices, adding it was fully restored in minutes. The crash peaked right around the time of the premiere and affected access to the Upside Down storyline in Hawkins.
The fifth and final season rolls out in parts: Volume 1, comprising four episodes, premieres on November 26; Volume 2, consisting of three episodes, follows on Christmas Day; and the series finale airs on New Year’s Eve, with limited U.S. theatrical screenings. The show picks up in fall 1987, well over a year after the events of Season 4.
