The hit series FX’s The Bear is officially returning for Season 5, and star Jeremy Allen White has finally given fans a concrete update on when filming will begin. In a recent interview, White revealed production on Season 5 is expected to commence “very soon,” with an estimated date falling at the start of January 2026, around January 5.
Although Season 4 had been devised as the show’s finale, creator Christopher Storer subsequently opted to continue the story and FX officially renewed the series for a fifth season in July 2025. White confirmed Season 5 will pick up after Carmy’s life‑changing decision in the Season 4 finale, with Sydney, Richie and Natalie running the restaurant and Carmy stepping back.
When asked if Season 5 will be the final chapter of The Bear, White admitted that no final decision has been made yet. He described Season 4 as “intended to be the concluding one,” but said Storer reached out on Christmas Eve 2024 to share plans for more episodes.
White declared his awe for Storer’s writing and the ensemble cast, insisting he’d “honestly” like to stay involved with them forever if possible. For now, Season 5 stays confirmed as the next chapter, but whether it’s really the end is another question altogether.
With The Bear Season 5 on the horizon, a high‑profile Sorkin film, and a Springsteen biopic in the awards conversation, Jeremy Allen White is firmly at the center of Hollywood’s next awards cycle.
