The cast of Supernatural got together at CCXP25 in São Paulo, Brazil, from December 4 to 7 to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary. The “Road to Hell” panel at São Paulo Expo was led by Misha Collins (Castiel), Kathryn Newton (Claire Novak), Jim Beaver (Bobby Singer), Rob Benedict (Chuck/God), and Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel/Trickster). Fans filled the venue, singing and cheering along to the Kansas song “Carry on Wayward Son,” which is a series favorite.
Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who played Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who hunt demons, were not there. The show lasted for 15 seasons and ended in November 2020, but it still has a huge fan base around the world, especially in Brazil. Collins said that the warm reception was different from the lower U.S. attention after the finale.
During a fan Q&A, Collins made a big discussion political by suggesting that Trump is a “evil character” like the ones in the show. The crowd cheered, and Collins joked that there wasn’t a “big MAGA crowd” there. The moderator quickly moved on to a video part without saying anything about it.
Newton talked about her character Claire, saying that in a possible spinoff, she would still be “kicking ass and taking names” while hunting endless monsters. The panel talked about things that made them nostalgic, things that happened behind the scenes, and things that might happen in the future in the Supernatural universe.
Fans came out in droves to get autographs, take pictures, and attend panels with Newton from December 4 to 6. The reunion showed how the show changed culture, from demon hunts to famous music moments. CCXP25 made Brazil a popular place for fans.
