The snow started out light, but it quickly got too much for McCarthy. She said, “Okay, that was a bit too much,” as cast member Marcello Hernandez rolled in a piano and bumped her aside for a fun duet. Kenan Thompson joined in to calm her down in the middle of the chaos, which led to a group performance of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” with cast members dancing. With musical guest Dijon, McCarthy’s lively return marked the first episode of SNL in December 2025.
This appearance makes McCarthy a SNL mainstay, as she has been a guest on the show several times and is now one of the best hosts. Josh O’Connor will host an episode on December 13, with Lily as the musical guest. This will be the last episode of SNL for 2025.
