During a lively CCXP São Paulo panel on December 8, 2025, Kathryn Newton talked about how excited she was to star with Sarah Michelle Gellar in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. She said that seeing Gellar’s picture during rehearsals made her pass out and that Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been an inspiration for her whole life. Newton thanked directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett for writing the lead role just for her after they worked on Abigail.
As Grace MacCaullay, Samara Weaving returns to the role. Newton plays her estranged sister Faith in a high-stakes hunt between two wealthy families. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, David Cronenberg, Kevin Durand, and others make up the cast, which mixes horror and comedy. The movie was shot in Toronto, and the sequel takes the deadly game of hide-and-seek for control of a powerful council to a whole new level.
After the first movie made $57 million worldwide on a $6 million budget, Searchlight Pictures has set the release date for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come in theaters for April 10, 2026. During her CCXP appearance, Newton said that the trailer was Searchlight’s most-watched ever. Fans are looking forward to more baffling twists and explosive action from the Radio Silence directors.
