Down Cemetery Road Season 2: Emma Thompson, Ruth Wilson Return

Apple TV+ renewed the hit thriller “Down Cemetery Road” for a second season just a few days after the first season ended on December 10, 2025. Emma Thompson plays private investigator Zoë Boehm and Ruth Wilson plays Sarah Trafford in the series. This is their second time working together on a high-stakes plot. Thompson, who is also an executive producer, was happy about the renewal and praised her co-star and writer Morwenna Banks.

Plot Tease In Season 2, a woman is hit by a train, which leads Zoë to look into a ruthless black market for antiques. Sarah joins the investigation, which leads her to run into a serial killer who is trying to hide his tracks. The story is based on Mick Herron’s book series and takes place in a glamorous but dangerous world where conspiracy and suspense mix.

The first season started on October 29, 2025, when an explosion at an Oxford house set Sarah on a quest to find a missing girl, with Zoë’s help. The eight-episode run, based on Herron’s “Zoë Boehm” books (like his “Slow Horses” fame), quickly got good reviews for its twists that blurred the line between life and death.
