Netflix has released the first intense trailer for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which confirms that Cillian Murphy will return as the famous Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby. Set during World War II, the teaser shows an older, scarred Tommy being pulled back into the criminal underworld by violence, Nazis, and unfinished business.
The movie takes place in Birmingham in 1940, when the Second World War was getting worse in Europe and Tommy’s past sins were coming back to haunt him. Tommy is living in exile by choice, but he has to go home for a brutal fight for survival that is also a dark quest for redemption. Steven Knight, the creator of the show, teases “full-on Peaky Blinders at war,” promising a big new chapter for the Shelby empire.
Winner of an Oscar Cillian Murphy plays the lead role in the movie, once again playing Tommy Shelby, who may be his last role as the famous crime boss. Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Stephen Graham all return to the movie, and heavy-hitters Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Barry Keoghan, and Jay Lycurgo join the Peaky Blinders universe.
Tom Harper directed Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, and Steven Knight, who created the franchise, wrote the script. The movie will come out in some theaters on March 6, 2026, and then it will be available to everyone on Netflix on March 20, 2026. This gives fans two chances to see how the Shelby saga has changed on the big screen.
Fans of Peaky Blinders are going wild over the gritty, gun-filled teaser. On social media, people are calling the trailer “the best Christmas present ever” and celebrating Tommy Shelby’s epic return. Fans are already calling Murphy’s return as Tommy a “legendary” moment and are expecting an emotional, war-torn goodbye to one of TV’s most important crime dramas.
