During the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, a prop boulder that got away hit a cast member. The cast member is now recovering. The video of the event, which went viral on social media, shows the giant prop suddenly going off track and rolling toward the audience.
In the viral video, the worker runs in front of the boulder, which is rolling off the stage, to protect guests. The 400-pound rubber prop knocks him to the ground, but people online are calling his quick action heroic because it probably saved people from getting hurt.
The accident happened during a reenactment of the famous boulder scene from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” which is a big part of the long-running live stunt show. Witnesses say that at first, the audience thought it was part of the show. Then they saw that the boulder had jumped off its track and was heading straight for the seats.
Disney confirmed that a prop “moved off its track” and that the injured performer is now getting better after getting medical help right away. The company said that safety is very important to them, and they said that the boulder part of the show will be changed while their safety team looks into what went wrong.
One show was canceled after the event, and it is said that the use of the rolling boulder was removed from later shows while the investigation is still going on. Even though there was a scare, the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” is still on, and Disney is keeping an eye on it and making sure the safety rules are up to date.
