LA Public Restrooms App: Find Clean Toilets Fast in Los Angeles

Kenneth Mejia, the City Controller of Los Angeles, has released a free app that shows where all the public bathrooms and drinking fountains are in the city. This solves a common problem for both residents and visitors.

Highlights of the App Launch

The app, which you can find at bathrooms.lacontroller.app, shows where city departments like Recreation and Parks, the Public Library, and the Bureau of Streets Services are located. Users can quickly find facilities by filtering by council district (CD 1–15), bathrooms only, water fountains, or both. The Hollywood Reporter published the tool on January 3, 2026, to address the need for public hygiene spots that are easy to get to in LA’s sprawling layout.

Important Features and Advantages

  • An interactive map with options for bathrooms, water fountains, or both.
  • Coverage includes parks and libraries that are run by the city, which helps public health.
  • Free and open to everyone, great for tourists, people who work in the area, and people who live there.

This project shows how LA is trying to make city life better for its growing population.
