The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni over the 2024 movie “It Ends With Us” has gotten worse because private text messages between Taylor Swift and Baldoni have been made public, in which Swift harshly criticized Baldoni. The texts, which were made public in court papers on January 20, 2026, show Swift calling Baldoni a “b***h” and making fun of him for playing a “tiny violin” in support of her friend Lively, who was accused of sexual harassment and retaliation on set.
In December 2024, Swift texted Lively about Baldoni expecting a New York Times article. She said, “I think this b***h knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin.” In texts from April 2023, Lively asks Swift to support her changes to the script during a meeting at her New York apartment with Baldoni present. Lively calls Baldoni a “clown” and a “doofus.” Swift replied with excitement, “I’ll do anything for you!!” This shows how close they were as friends, even though things were tense on set.
In December 2024, Lively filed a civil rights complaint against Baldoni, the film’s director and co-star, saying he sexually harassed her and started a smear campaign after she told him about her concerns. Baldoni sued Lively for defamation, which included her husband Ryan Reynolds, but a related lawsuit was thrown out. The main trial is set for May 18, 2026. The filings also showed messages from Baldoni’s podcast co-host and arguments over cuts to the script.
