Nicki Minaj Calls Herself Trump’s No. 1 Fan at Summit

On January 28, 2026, Nicki Minaj went to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., where she held hands with President Donald Trump on stage. She called herself “probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change.” She said that criticism only makes her support stronger. The rapper promised that bullies and smear campaigns would not work, saying that Trump has “a lot of force behind him” and “God is protecting him.”

The event promoted Trump Accounts, which are tax-free retirement savings accounts for kids born between 2025 and 2028 that the federal government gives $1,000 to start. Trump praised Minaj for promising to give between $150,000 and $300,000 to set up accounts for her fans. He called her “MAGA” and “the greatest” female rapper. Parents, guardians, employers, or other people can give money to the child until they turn 18.

Minaj’s support is a change from her 2020 stance against Trump on immigration issues, when she said she was an immigrant and wouldn’t join the “Trump bandwagon.” She has recently shown her admiration for giving people hope, like at AmericaFest in December 2025. Even though there has been backlash in rap circles, she has embraced MAGA rhetoric and spoken out against people like Gavin Newsom.
