An Idea That Captured Her Attention Immediately
Chaitrali revealed that the concept of the series immediately piqued her interest.
“It was very interesting and exciting for me,” she said. “I believe in astrology, numerology, and vastu. I’m not a blind follower, but I do feel that energies influence our lives. So when Ishika approached me with this idea, I didn’t hesitate for a moment.”
The unique concept of exploring the 12 zodiac signs made the opportunity even more appealing.
Trust in the Team Made Saying Yes Easy
Beyond the theme, the people behind the series played a major role in her decision.
“First of all, it was Ishika—I’ve known her since she was a child,” Chaitrali explained. “Second, it was Rajan Sir’s production. Saying no was never really an option.”
She added that portraying the main character made the role even more special. “Being the protagonist in any show is always significant. I grabbed the opportunity immediately.”
Exploring Zodiac Signs Beyond Reality
While preparing for her role, Chaitrali delved deeper into astrology. Interestingly, her character’s zodiac sign is different from her own.
“I’m playing a zodiac sign that isn’t mine, and the audience will soon find out which one,” she shared. “Sikander Kharbanda, who plays my husband, has studied astrology and numerology. He often shared helpful insights with us.”
Some revelations about her personal zodiac were surprisingly accurate. “There were no similarities between my real sign and the one I played, but some details about my zodiac felt spot on. That discovery was fascinating.”
Connecting Through Emotions, Not Just Astrology
Despite the differences in zodiac traits, Chaitrali connected deeply with her character on an emotional level.
“Even though the zodiac signs were different, certain feelings and reactions felt familiar,” she said. “Balancing an understanding of the character while staying true to human emotions helped me perform the role honestly.”
The Pressure of Being Relatable
Chaitrali admitted that staying authentic was challenging.
“People who belong to that zodiac sign will watch the show. They need to relate to the character. That pressure was always there,” she explained.
She also confessed feeling nervous during filming. “I was honestly scared while portraying the role. But Ishika and her team studied all twelve zodiac signs in detail. We accepted the challenge and tried our best to represent it honestly.”
