After four successful seasons, Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show Sherri is coming to an end. The last episodes will air in the fall of 2026. Producer Debmar-Mercury said that the changing and difficult world of daytime TV, such as fewer people watching pay-TV and tough advertising conditions, is to blame for the show’s end, not any problems with the quality of the show or Shepherd’s talent. Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein, co-presidents of Debmar-Mercury, said they still believe in the show and Shepherd. They also said they would look into other options on other platforms.
Sherri started airing on Fox and other stations like Nexstar and Sinclair in September 2022. It took the place of The Wendy Williams Show and had celebrity interviews, pop culture discussions, and funny segments. The comedian and former co-host of The View (2007–2014) got six Daytime Emmy nominations for the show, which was filmed at Chelsea Studios in New York. Even though the show was canceled, work on Season 4 will go on as planned.
The news came out just a few hours after NBCUniversal said that The Kelly Clarkson Show would end after seven seasons. This shows that daytime talk shows are having a hard time in general. Fox Stations has dropped Sherri but kept shows like Family Feud because of things like competition from video podcasts, markets that used to be dominated by stars like Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres, and economic pressures on syndication. This change shows that people are moving away from traditional TV talk shows.
