Ajay Devgn’s Endorsement Boosts the Buzz
Adding significant momentum to the project, actor Ajay Devgn has publicly expressed his support. Taking to social media, he congratulated the RSS on completing 100 years and acknowledged its contribution to nation-building. At the same time, Devgn shared the teaser and extended his best wishes to the entire Shatak team.
Earlier, yogaguru Baba Ramdev had also backed the film. Consequently, the endorsement has amplified public interest. Notably, Shatak stands out as one of the first films on the Sangh. It is also among the first to receive open encouragement from voices closely linked to its ecosystem.
Key Song Unveiled at RSS Headquarters
Meanwhile, the film’s song “Bhagwa Hai Apni Pehchaan” was unveiled at Keshav Kunj, the RSS headquarters in Delhi. The launch took place in the presence of RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat. Additionally, Shri Bhaiya ji Joshi offered his blessings to the project. This event further strengthened the film’s symbolic connect with the organisation.
Teaser Sets the Tone for a Historical Narrative
The teaser opens with a striking line:
“This is the story of an idea that many tried to erase again and again over the years.”
Through this, the film signals its intent to address long-standing debates, criticisms, and misunderstandings surrounding the Sangh. Importantly, it places these narratives within a broader historical and factual context.
The visuals highlight key figures such as Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Guruji Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar. In addition, references to leaders like Lokmanya Tilak and Mahatma Gandhi appear. There are also glimpses of defining moments in Indian history. These range from the freedom movement to the Emergency.
Director Calls the Film a Personal Journey
Directed by Aashish Mall and produced by Vir Kapur, Shatak is described as a deeply personal project. According to Mall, the film explores lesser-known aspects of the Sangh that are rarely discussed. Therefore, the central aim is to address existing misunderstandings with honesty and clarity.
Kapur, on the other hand, notes that among movements that emerged between 1875 and 1950, the RSS is unique. It stands out for continuing its work without interruption. Reflecting this enduring spirit, the film carries the tagline “Na ruke, na thake, na jhuke” (Neither stop, nor tire, nor bow).
Release Date and What to Expect
Ultimately, Shatak: Sangh Ke 100 Varsh is positioned as a tribute to generations of selfless volunteers. At the same time, it seeks to revive the idea of collective service and nation-building. The film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on February 19, 2026.
