On February 6, 2026, police in Milton, Georgia, found a body in a pond near Nathan Smith’s house. It is thought to be the 27-year-old son of rapper Lil Jon. The discovery came just a few days after Smith, who is also known as DJ Young Slade, went missing on February 3. He left his house on foot around 6 a.m. without his phone, and he may have been confused and in need of help. There are no signs of foul play, according to the police. However, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the person’s identity and figure out what caused their death.
Nicole Smith, Lil Jon and Nathan’s mother, wrote a joint statement saying how heartbroken they were: “We are very heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith… We loved Nathan with all of our hearts.” They thanked the search teams, which included divers from the Cherokee County Fire Department, and asked for privacy while they were grieving. A representative had asked for prayers for his safe return earlier.
After their first attempts failed, the Milton Police searched the nearby Mayfield Park pond and found the body around 11:53 a.m. The case is still being looked into while waiting for the medical examiner’s report.
