Paramount Pictures has set exciting release dates for its upcoming movies, including Teyana Taylor’s first feature film as a director, Get Lite, and David Corenswet’s NFL drama.
Get Lite, which will be released in theaters on April 9, 2027, is the first feature film directed by singer and actress Teyana Taylor. The story is about a talented but sheltered dance student who finds love, family, and inspiration in the subways of New York City through Litefeet dancing. Storm Reid plays the lead role, and Kenya Barris and Reid are two of the producers. Taylor is the executive producer.
An uplifting biopic about NFL player John Tuggle, who was the last pick in the 1983 New York Giants draft and was nicknamed “Mr. Irrelevant,” will come out on Christmas Day 2026. Jonathan Levine directed it, and David Corenswet from Superman plays Tuggle, who had a big impact in his one season before dying of cancer in 1986. Michael Shannon and Isabel May are in the cast.
The Rescue, a modern western with Brandon Sklenar, comes out on January 29, 2027. An unnamed horror movie comes out on July 16, 2027. These dates put the movies in the middle of a busy holiday season, with Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part III among the other movies.
