Minions 3 trailer unleashes chaos in ‘Minions & Monsters’

On February 8, 2026, during Super Bowl LX, Universal Pictures released the first teaser for Minions 3, which is officially called Minions & Monsters. The fast-paced ad starts with a Minion running toward the camera and yelling “Minions!” Then a monster growl cuts in, hinting at epic creature fights in a Hollywood monster movie setting. The full trailer quickly became popular on the internet, building excitement for the seventh movie in the series.

The story takes place in Hollywood in the 1920s and follows the mischievous Minions as they make monster movies and fight sea monsters, a giant pink bunny, and a mummy. James, Henry, and Ed are new Minions who go to Tinseltown and use a spellbook to call up beasts. This self-referential comedy takes the franchise’s trademark slapstick and adds meta movie chaos to it.

Pierre Coffin, who voiced the Minions and directed the first two Despicable Me and Minions movies, is in charge of Minions & Monsters, which comes out in theaters on July 1, 2026. Brian Lynch wrote it, and Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan made it. It comes after Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022) and Despicable Me. 4. The series has made almost $5 billion around the world.
