AA Films Acquires North India & Nepal Rights for Yash’s Toxic, Strengthening Pan-India Momentum

In a major boost to its nationwide rollout, Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has secured a powerful distribution partner. Anil Thadani’s AA Films has officially acquired the theatrical rights for North India and Nepal, further reinforcing the film’s ambitious pan-India strategy.

As a result, Toxic continues to build strong momentum across both domestic and international markets.

A Strategic Reunion After the Blockbuster KGF Era

Significantly, this collaboration marks a high-profile reunion. AA Films previously distributed KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2, two record-breaking films that transformed the pan-India box office landscape.

Now, with Toxic, the partnership enters a new phase. Not only is it built on trust and scale, but it is also driven by a shared vision for event cinema. Moreover, their earlier alliance played a crucial role in expanding South Indian films into the Hindi-speaking belt.

Record-Breaking Pre-Release Deals Build Momentum

Even before this latest acquisition, Toxic had already made headlines with landmark deals.

  • Firstly, it became the first non-Telugu film to secure a major distribution agreement with Sri Venkateswara Creations in the AP–TG market.
  • Additionally, it locked one of the highest overseas acquisition deals for an Indian film with Phars Film for international distribution.

Therefore, with AA Films now handling North India and Nepal, the film’s distribution network appears both expansive and strategically aligned.

Anil Thadani on Backing a Big-Screen Spectacle

Confirming the deal, Anil Thadani, Founder of AA Films, emphasized that Toxic is designed for the theatrical experience.

According to him, the film stands out for its scale, depth of storytelling, and global sensibility. Furthermore, he noted that Yash continues to redefine the idea of a pan-India superstar. With Toxic, the actor steps into a space that feels rooted in Indian culture yet globally resonant.

Importantly, Thadani reiterated that AA Films supports projects capable of delivering landmark cinematic experiences — and Toxic fits that vision perfectly.

Producers Call It the Future of Indian Cinema

Meanwhile, Venkat K. Narayana, Producer at KVN Productions, described the partnership as vital for a project of this magnitude.

He stressed that Toxic is a large-scale cinematic venture that requires a strong and disciplined distribution backbone. In addition, he credited Anil Thadani as one of the early architects of the pan-India movement, long before it became an industry buzzword.

According to the makers, Toxic represents the evolving face of Indian cinema — content-driven, technically ambitious, culturally rooted, and globally appealing.

A Global Vision with Multilingual Reach

Notably, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, highlighting its international aspirations.

Moreover, dubbed versions will be released in:

  • Hindi
  • Telugu
  • Tamil
  • Malayalam
  • Several additional languages

Consequently, this multilingual rollout underlines the film’s global strategy.

A Power-Packed Technical Lineup

In addition to its scale, the film boasts a strong technical team:

  • Cinematography: Rajeev Ravi (National Award winner)
  • Music: Ravi Basrur
  • Editing: Ujwal Kulkarni
  • Production Design: TP Abid

Furthermore, the action sequences are mounted on a grand level. They are choreographed by Hollywood action director JJ Perry (John Wick), alongside National Award-winning action directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.

Festive Release Strategy for Maximum Impact

Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on 19 March 2026.

Importantly, the release coincides with major festivals such as Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. As a result, the timing positions Toxic as a high-stakes, cross-cultural cinematic event poised for nationwide celebration.
