Since Thursday, Shia LaBeouf has been going from bar to bar in New Orleans’ Uptown neighborhood. This is in preparation for Fat Tuesday on February 17, 2026. The actor, who is married to Mia Goth and has said he is sober after having problems with alcohol in the past with ex FKA Twigs, was seen shirtless and without money at Ms. Mae’s, a 24-hour dive bar, during the Bacchus super-krewe parade. Doorman Robert Skuse said that LaBeouf was “somewhat aggressive” but not completely drunk. He pointed out that LaBeouf yelled “Do you know who I am?” in front of thousands of people at the parade.
There were clear signs that LaBeouf needed ID to get into Ms. Mae’s, but he tried anyway, so staff stopped him at first. People recognized the star and took pictures of him on Instagram. He agreed, but later he was asked to leave after trying to work as a bartender and insisting on using a credit card at a cash-only bar. On Thursday, a bartender called him “pleasant,” but by Sunday, things had gotten out of hand. One staff member jokingly told him to “go dig” in reference to his 2003 movie Holes.
Witnesses saw LaBeouf at the Dos Jefes cigar bar, where he was “louder than everyone” giving acting tips, and at 45 Tchoupitoulas, where he went twice and left a $20 tip. He stayed at a high-end Airbnb in Uptown that was close to parade routes and went to Brothers III Lounge on Magazine Street. On Lundi Gras (Fat Monday), a video showed him dancing at R Bar in the French Quarter while wearing a red beaded top hat, scarves, and holding a beer while posing for fans. No comment from the rep yet as the party reaches its peak.
