A studio representative told that director Lee Isaac Chung has left Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated Ocean’s Eleven prequel because of creative differences. The stylish franchise revival written by Carrie Solomon is now behind schedule because of the 1960s Europe-set heist movie starring Margot Robbie through her LuckyChap Entertainment.
Chung, who had just directed the hit movie Twisters, joined the company a few months ago but left without any drama to follow a different vision. There was early talk of Bradley Cooper taking Ryan Gosling’s place opposite Robbie, but there have been no updates since they left.
Warner Bros is looking for a new director to capture the slick cons and glamour of the Ocean’s legacy, which was once planned to be filmed in 2026. While fans guess who will take over, the studio’s main goal is to keep the high-stakes appeal of this prequel during the change.
