Deadliest Catch Star Todd Meadows Dies Overboard: Shocking Details

Todd Meadows, a 25-year-old deckhand on Deadliest Catch, sadly died after falling overboard while filming on the Aleutian Lady in Alaska’s Bering Sea. The event happened on February 25, 2026, and it showed how dangerous crab fishing can be, as seen on the Discovery Channel show.

The crew said that Meadows went overboard at about 5 p.m., 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor. After about 10 minutes, they got him back and tried to give him first aid and revive him, but it didn’t work, so they took his body to port. The U.S. Coast Guard is looking into the accident that happened while he was crabbing for the first time in bad weather.

Captain Rick Shelford called February 25 “the most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady.” He said Meadows was like a “brother” with a smile that made everyone else smile and a strong work ethic. He praised the young father’s love of fishing, family, and life, saying that his children will carry on his legacy. Discovery Channel said they were heartbroken and sent their condolences to his family, crew, and the fishing community.
