Rihanna Shooting Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, from Florida, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion on March 8, 2026. The attack used an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle, which fired about 10 rounds at the house where Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their three kids were at the time. There were no injuries, but bullets hit the property, the gate, and the area around it.

Witnesses said that Ortiz drove a white Tesla around the block before opening fire at about 1:15 PM local time. Police used license plate readers to find her car eight miles away and arrest her. Before the incident, she posted angry comments about Rihanna on social media, but the reason for this is still being looked into.

Prosecutors charged the defendant with one count of attempted murder, multiple counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon (up to 10), and shooting at a building that was occupied. If Ortiz is found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. Bail is set at between $1.875 million and $10.225 million. LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell talked about how dangerous it was, saying that victims “easily could have been hit.”
