Warriors’ Moody Knee Injury in OT Win vs Mavericks

Moses Moody, a wing player for the Golden State Warriors, hurt his left knee badly without making contact during their exciting 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks on March 23, 2026. The road win was overshadowed by the fact that Moody was taken off the court on a stretcher after his knee gave out while he was trying to dunk during a fast break.

With 1:13 left in overtime, Moody stole the ball from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg and drove for an open dunk. But when he planted his left knee, it gave out and he fell to the floor. Play stopped for a few minutes while trainers and a stretcher helped the 23-year-old off the court near the Warriors’ bench. Moody was great, scoring 23 points and stealing three balls while doing a great job of guarding Flagg in the second half.

Moody was coming back from a right wrist sprain that kept him out of 10 games. He was averaging a career-high 11.9 points per game and starting 49 of 60 games in his fifth NBA season. He signed a three-year, $39 million extension before last season, and this is the first year of that deal. The Warriors were already dealing with a lot of injuries, like Jimmy Butler’s torn ACL and Stephen Curry’s ongoing absence from the right knee (22 games), so there was no immediate news on how bad the knee injury was.

The win gives Golden State a little bit of a break, but Moody’s departure makes things even harder for the team in a tough Western Conference. As the game went on, teammates came together and won the overtime game, even though it was scary.
