Adarsh Gourav, who’s known for picking roles that really make you think, is doing something totally different in Ridley Scott’s new show, Alien Earth. You can catch it on FX and Jio in India, and get this – he’s playing a 10-year-old! He says it was a wild ride, pushing him in ways he never expected.
Diving Headfirst Into Childhood
So, how do you even become a kid again? Adarsh spent a lot of time just hanging out with children, watching how they tick. He noticed how they react to things, the kinds of questions they ask, how easily they laugh, and, of course, how easily they get distracted!
“Kids just live in the moment, without holding back,” he explained. “I really wanted to capture that sense of freedom and pure innocence on screen.”
Playtime That Actually Transformed Him
To really get into the head of a child, Adarsh went to Bangkok for some seriously cool workshops led by a child psychologist named April. Think drawing, playing with clay, and making up stories. He even got to reconnect with his own inner child through games and just letting loose!
YouTube University: Kid Edition
Adarsh also did some research on YouTube, believe it or not! He watched this channel called HiHo Kids where kids meet new people and ask them all sorts of random, honest questions.
“It was a great reminder of just how differently kids see the world,” he said.
A Balancing Act: Tough But Totally Worth It
Adarsh admits that playing a child was no walk in the park, but it was incredibly rewarding.
“When you have a really solid script, you can just let go and become the character,” he explained. “The trickiest thing was trying to think less like a grown-up and more like a kid who’s experiencing everything for the very first time.”
Another Big Step on the World Stage
Alien Earth is just another example of Adarsh taking on roles that are anything but ordinary. He’s not afraid to take risks, and that’s why he’s becoming one of the most exciting Indian actors to watch on the international scene.
