“Beauty in Black” Reigns Supreme: Tyler Perry Drama Tops Weekly Streaming Charts

The gripping drama “Beauty in Black” by Tyler Perry topped Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week of September 15–21, 2025, with an impressive 1.35 billion minutes of viewing time. It knocked “Wednesday” out of the top spot. “Beauty in Black” just barely beat its own ratings from the week before and stayed the most-watched show in the US during that time.

“Black Rabbit,” starring Jason Bateman and Jude Law, followed closely behind with 1.23 billion minutes viewed, showing that it had a great launch week after coming out on September 18. Netflix’s “Wednesday” stayed in third place, with viewers spending 1.02 billion minutes on it.

In the weeks leading up to the season three finale of Prime Video’s hit show “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” it reached a new high of 776 million viewing minutes. “Gen V” also made a big comeback into the top 10 originals with its second-season premiere, getting 424 million minutes. International shows like the Korean hit “Bon Appetit, Your Majesty” also made it onto the list, with 421 million minutes streamed.

“KPop Demon Hunters” stayed at the top of the list with 828 million minutes. New movies like “Ice: V” (728 million on Netflix), “Elio” (550 million on Disney+), and “Superman” (513 million on HBO Max) also made a big splash in U.S. streaming households.

Nielsen’s data only looks at TV viewing in the U.S. It doesn’t include mobile or computer streams or international audiences. It only shows the top digital entertainment options for American audiences in late September 2025.
