Starting on January 11, 2026, The Bill Simmons Podcast will be live on Netflix every Sunday at 11:30 p.m. ET, right after NBC’s Sunday Night Football. This is the first episode to be streamed live as part of a larger partnership between Spotify and The Ringer that will bring video podcasts to Netflix in early 2026. After the show airs, video versions will still be available on Netflix and Spotify. Audio episodes will be available on all major podcast platforms.
Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal Iacono host the popular Guess the Lines series during the NFL season. Zach Lowe, an expert on the NBA, will start covering basketball this spring. The move fits with Netflix’s plan to add more sports content, which includes other Ringer shows like The Zach Lowe Show, The McShay Show, and The Rewatchables.
Furthermore, This is the first of many video podcasts that Netflix will make with Spotify Studios and The Ringer in sports, pop culture, and true crime. The deal was made in October 2025. Netflix’s live and personality-driven sports audio-visual content will get even better starting in early 2026 thanks to new partnerships like Barstool Sports for Pardon My Take and Spittin’ Chiclets. However, The platform wants to compete with YouTube’s dominance in video podcasts as more and more people want unfiltered sports commentary.
