Kids especially enjoy festivals’ delight and excitement, and Dussehra is no exception. Young actor Kavish Chouhan, who portrays Shaishav in Sun Neo’s hit program Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, recently shared his favourite memories of celebrating Dussehra in his birthplace as well as his intentions to celebrate the event in Mumbai this year. The holidays are quickly approaching.
“Every year, I would wear new clothes and go with my parents to watch the Ravan Dahan in my hometown,” Kavish reminisced with fondness about his early years. There was always a fair, lots of excitement and a spectacular occasion. Along with the puja, we would indulge in desserts. My best memory is of coming to the ceremony with my pals and setting off firecrackers. The first time I saw the Ravan effigy burn, I vividly remember how amazing it was and how afraid I was at the same time because it was so large and loud. That is still the Dussehra I will never forget.
Regarding his plans for this year’s Dussehra, Kavish continued, “I’ll be celebrating in Mumbai this year, by the local customs.” I’m looking forward to it, but we haven’t finalized the arrangements yet because I’m now filming Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya.
In Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, Kavish plays Shaishav, Vaishnavi’s (Brinda Dahal) guardian brother. The drama, which airs on Sun Neo from Monday to Saturday at 7 PM, centres on Vaishnavi, an orphan who considers Chhathi Maiyya her mother. It tells a heartwarming story of family, faith, and love. Notable actors including Sara Khan, Jaya Bhattacharya, and Ashish Dixit play important roles in the series.
