Channing Tatum Nude Scene Steals Roofman Spotlight

Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst recently addressed the full-on nude scene in their movie Roofman, by director Derek Cianfrance – a true-story crime drama. The now-streaming movie follows Jeffrey Manchester, a former Army Ranger-turned-robber who hides out in a Toys R Us after prison escape.

Roofman tells the true story of Manchester (Tatum) breaking into McDonald’s via the rooftops as he then lived in a Toys R Us for months undetected, where he used baby monitors to watch activities. He ends up falling for a single mom employee, Leigh (Dunst), under a fake identity. Romance sets in amidst his fugitive life. Peter Dinklage is the store manager who finds Tatum’s character in that oh-so-telling shower moment.

Tatum said the fully nude sequence was his “worst nightmare,” shot without coverage during a chaotic chase in which he got hurt slipping on soap. He said he felt naive about the shoot, that director Cianfrance didn’t blur it, and that he even met Dinklage naked for authenticity. Dunst and Tatum also spoke of stealing props from Toys R Us off the real set.
