On the 3rd of November 2023, Costa Cruises had a big celebration in Mumbai for the arrival of the Costa Serena cruise ship. This Italian-flagged ship is here in Mumbai from November 4, 2023, until January 11, 2023, as part of a special program. During this time, the Costa Serena will be based in Mumbai and offer cruise itineraries for 2, 3, and 5 nights, taking passengers to places like Kochi, Goa, and the beautiful Island of Agatti in Lakshadweep.

This exciting event coincided with Costa’s 75th anniversary, and it was attended by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, along with Francesco Raffa, the Director of the Asia Region & Growth Markets at Costa Cruises, Nalini Gupta from Lotus Aero Enterprises (the GSA of Costa Cruises), and other important officials.

If you’re on board the Costa Serena, you can look forward to a wide range of international-style experiences, along with the warm hospitality that Costa has been known for during its 75-year history. There will also be a local touch, especially when it comes to the food and entertainment, which will cater to the tastes of Indian guests. The last leg of the cruise program will also take passengers to the stunning Maldives.

Costa Serena sailings in India are suitable for families, couples, and are also a great option for wedding ceremonies, groups, and corporate incentive travel. The ship offers reserved areas and services for such special occasions.

Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, expressed his support for cruise lines like Costa to make Indian ports their home. He mentioned that they are ready to develop port infrastructure to accommodate large cruise ships and take pride in offering domestic cruising options to Indian travelers.

Francesco Raffa, the Director of the Asia Region & Growth Markets at Costa Cruises, expressed their happiness to be back in India. They are committed to offering Indian guests a genuine Italian experience with a local touch in terms of food and entertainment. India is an important market for Costa, both for their established Fly & Cruise programs to destinations like Dubai and the Mediterranean and for their new domestic operations in India.

Nalini Gupta of Lotus Aero Enterprises also welcomed Costa’s return to India with dedicated domestic itineraries. With Costa, Indian guests can enjoy easy access to cruises using just their Aadhaar card. This makes it convenient for Indians to explore beautiful locations in the country from a unique perspective and have an international holiday experience with an Indian touch.

Costa Serena is a spacious cruise ship with 1500 cabins, including 505 private balconies, and 14 passenger decks. Guests can make the most of their cruise experience with amenities like a wellness center, a gym with a sea view, a beauty salon, a theatre, restaurants serving Indian and international cuisine, bars, 4 swimming pools (2 with self-propelled glass roofs), a shopping area, and a kids’ club for children and teenagers. It’s a floating paradise for travelers.
