An emotional Wicked Night celebration on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars ended with the elimination of singer Scott Hoying and his professional partner Rylee Arnold. The pair got 28 out of 40 for their performance, bringing their total for the last two weeks to 58 out of 80. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to keep them from being eliminated. In Week 5, there was a “Dedication Night” where no one was eliminated. All scores and votes carried over to Week 6, making the competition even tougher.

Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas did an amazing job with their routine to “Defying Gravity,” getting a perfect 39 out of 40. This was the first time this season that a couple got all 10s from the judges. Robert Irwin and Witney Carson also did well, getting a score of 36 out of 40. This was the same as Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten, who tied with Jordan and Ezra for their contemporary dance to the same song. Couples danced to famous songs from the hit musical “Wicked,” like “Popular,” “The Wizard and I,” and “Defying Gravity.”

Hoying and Arnold had a lot of fans, but they may have left because they had a mid-level score and less social media engagement than other contestants. Some fans were unhappy and said that the show was becoming more about popularity than dance skill.
