22nd July 2024, India – Dangal TV proudly announces the launch of its latest show, “Gehna Zevar Ya Zanjeer,” a riveting television drama set to captivate audiences with its enthralling storyline and unforgettable characters. Premiering on 22nd July 2024 at 10:00 PM, this series delves deep into the heart of rural India, addressing enduring customs and the unyielding human spirit.
“Gehna Zevar Ya Zanjeer” draws inspiration from rural India, where the tradition of dowry demands persists. Educated men are treated as commodities, with families demanding hefty dowries from prospective brides’ families. When poor families cannot meet these demands, a grim practice, known as “Pakadwa Shaadi” (forced marriage), emerges—grooms are kidnapped and coerced into marriage at gunpoint. The series explores the plight of a couple ensnared in this harrowing custom.
The drama centres around Gehna, portrayed by Divya Patel, a spirited and resourceful young farmer’s daughter from Khapuriya, Uttar Pradesh. Her life is a testament to resilience and determination. Enter Dr. Ayushman Raisingh, played by Paras Arora, a young, idealistic doctor from Banaras. Driven by his disdain for regressive village customs, Ayushman dedicates himself to improving the villagers’ lives. As Gehna’s mother fears for her daughter’s future, she orchestrates a forced marriage between Gehna and Ayush, setting off a series of dramatic events.
This gripping narrative sheds light on the archaic custom, offering a story of love, sacrifice, and resilience. “‘Gehna Zevar Ya Zanjeer’ is a story that must be told. It delves into the harsh realities faced by many women while highlighting their strength and courage. Crafting and scripting Gehna has been a transformative experience. Her journey is one of heartache and hope, and I believe audiences will connect deeply with her story,” expresses the Programming Team at Dangal TV.
Don’t miss this unforgettable journey of love, tradition, and resilience. Tune in to “Gehna Zevar Ya Zanjeer,” airing on 22nd July at 10:00 PM.
