Dhartti Bhatt is a popular actress who has starred in shows like Woh Toh Hai Albela and Purnima. She is also an avid traveller who loves to explore new places and cultures. Recently, she visited Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and had an amazing time there. She shares her experience and tips with us in this exclusive interview.
Why did you choose Baku as your destination?
Dhartti: I wanted to take my mom on a trip as she loves to travel. I heard that Baku is a great place to visit as it has a mix of European and Asian influences. It is also known for its rich history, architecture, and cuisine. I decided to go there for 9 days and also visit Shahdag, which is a ski resort that is called the mini Switzerland of Azerbaijan.
What did you like the most about Baku?
Dhartti: The people of Baku are very friendly and hospitable. They treat tourists with respect and love. I made many new friends there, especially two girls who were very sweet and fun. We went on a day trip together and danced to Hindi songs. They are big fans of Shah Rukh Khan, even though they don’t understand the language. One of them invited me to her home and made me coffee and traditional Azerbaijani soup. It was such a warm and memorable gesture. I felt like I was part of their family.
What were some of the highlights of your trip?
Dhartti: Baku is a beautiful city with many attractions. I enjoyed seeing the Flame Towers, the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Old City, and the Maiden Tower. I also loved the coaster ride through the snow in Shahdag. It was very exciting and exhilarating. I recommend everyone to try it.
How do you travel light and save money while travelling?
Dhartti: I prefer to travel with less luggage as it makes it easier to move around. I also like to style myself, so I try to balance between the two. I don’t shop much when I travel as I don’t want to make my luggage heavier than allowed. I think the best part of travelling is to experience new things, not to buy new things. I like to immerse myself in the local culture, try the local food, and admire the local beauty. That’s how I refresh and gain new perspectives.
What are your next travel plans?
Dhartti: I have a bucket list of places that I want to visit. The next one is Seoul in South Korea. I am a huge fan of Korean dramas and Korean actors. I want to see the places where they shoot and maybe meet some of them. After that, I want to go to Italy as I am a pizza lover. I want to taste the authentic pizza and pasta there.
