ENHYPEN Sunghoon Named Milano Cortina 2026 Torchbearer

Sunghoon from ENHYPEN has been chosen to carry the torch for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. This is a big step forward for K-pop in global sports. On January 24 KST (January 23 internationally), BELIFT LAB announced the news, confirming that Sunghoon would be carrying the Olympic flame during the famous torch relay. The event will end in Milan on February 6, 2026, the day before the opening ceremony.

Before joining ENHYPEN, Sunghoon was a reserve member of South Korea’s national figure skating team. This gave him a strong connection to Olympic ideals. Last year, he became an ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee. Samsung Electronics, one of his sponsors, suggested him. Sunghoon said in a heartfelt statement, “It feels like I’ve now achieved that dream as a singer, so I’m happy and honored.”

Sunghoon is the second K-pop artist to take part in an overseas Olympic torch relay. Jin from BTS did it first at the Paris 2024 Games. ENHYPEN’s song “Shout Out” was also picked as the official cheer song for the South Korean team, which made them even more involved. This award shows how K-pop is becoming more popular around the world in sports and entertainment.
