Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur Makes History With Highest-Altitude Film Premiere in Ladakh

Farhan Akhtar’s most-anticipated war epic, 120 Bahadur, is geared up to make cinematic history with the world’s highest-altitude film premiere at the Rezang La War Memorial Auditorium in Chushul village, Ladakh. Set at 16,452 feet above sea level, the special screening is a never-before-seen experience in Indian cinema.

The powerful war drama is inspired by the epic Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Indo-China war where 120 Indian soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, fought a valiant battle against all odds. Led by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, essayed by Farhan Akhtar, the soldiers fought to save their post at a height of over 16,000 feet, showcasing extraordinary courage and sacrifice.

120 Bahadur will be screened at Rezang La Memorial Auditorium from November 22 to mark the 63rd anniversary of the battle. PictureTime will screen 14 exclusive shows for the Indian Army personnel and the villagers in the inhospitable -10°C temperature to ensure that the spirit of valour is celebrated where the Battle once raged.

“This will be the highest altitude screening for any film,” said PictureTime’s founder and CEO, Sushil Chaudhary. “We are proud to bring this story of bravery to the very land where it unfolded.”

Earlier this week, 120 Bahadur also became the first movie to ever release across India’s defense theaters. In association with GenSync Brat Media, PictureTime will screen the film for the defense personnel in over 800 cinema halls across the country from November 21.
