Farhan Akhtar explains the meaning of 120 Bahadur: “It’s About Every Soldier of Rezang La.”

Mumbai, India – November 2025: Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has talked about the controversy surrounding his next war movie, 120 Bahadur. Farhan talked about the movie on Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat. He said that it honours all 120 soldiers who fought in the historic Battle of Rezang La, not just one hero.

### “If I Wanted to Make It About Major Shaitan Singh, I’d Have Named It After Him”

Rajat Sharma wanted to know if the movie is only about Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, and not the whole Ahir Company.
Farhan answered firmly:

“If I only wanted to make a movie about Major Shaitan Singh Bhati PVC, I would have called it Shaitan Singh.” That would have been simple. But this movie is about the whole business. That’s why the name of the book is 120 Bahadur. “Every soldier’s contribution was equally important.”

His statement made it clear that 120 Bahadur honours collective courage instead of just one person.

### A Tribute to Bravery and Friendship

Farhan also pointed out a strong line from the trailer that shows how the Ahir soldiers feel:

“Ahir hai hum, pyaar se maango ge toh jaan bhi de denge, lekin desh par baat aayi toh ek toh kya, 100 ki jaan le bhi lenge.”

He went on to say that the movie is about the unity, sacrifice, and unbreakable spirit of Indian soldiers who fought in the 1962 war even when it was freezing outside.

### About the Movie: The Battle That Defined Bravery

120 Bahadur is about 120 soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment who fought to protect Rezang La even though the odds were against them.
Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, the brave leader who inspired his men with the famous line:

“We Do Not Retreat”

The movie shows their “unshakeable patriotism” and the price they paid to protect the country’s honour.

### Strong Team Working on the Project

Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios) are the producers of 120 Bahadur. Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai is in charge of directing.
This movie from Excel Entertainment will come out in theatres on November 21, 2025.
