Frankie Grande on Ariana, Gay Sex & Sobriety in Viral Wicked Podcast

Tracy E. Gilchrist, who is known for her viral “holding space” interview with Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has started a new weekly podcast called “Holding Space With Tracy E. Gilchrist.” Frankie Grande, Ariana’s brother, talks openly about gay sex and his sobriety in the first episode. This is during the release of his album “Hotel Rock Bottom.”

Frankie talks about “power bottoms” in queer culture and how they serve a purpose, linking them to pop culture trends like HBO Max’s “Heated Rivalry.” He thanks Ariana for going to 12-step meetings with him, even jokingly asking for orange juice and setting up chairs during the meetings. Gilchrist keeps up her tradition of holding hands with her fingers during the whole conversation, which is like the emotional Wicked moment.

Gilchrist’s 2024 Wicked press interview went viral when she talked about fans “holding space” with “Defying Gravity” lyrics. This surprised Erivo and made Grande grab her finger in support. She now makes the podcast with Bruno D’St, who is a member of the RuPaul’s Drag Race pit crew.

This launch takes advantage of the ongoing buzz about Wicked, with Part Two set to come out in November 2025. It mixes stories about family support and queer visibility in entertainment news.
