The Plot Unveiled

“Savi” revolves around a seemingly ordinary housewife who embarks on a daring mission to save her framed husband. The stakes are high: her husband is incarcerated in one of England’s most secure prisons, guarded by 75 armed personnel and monitored by 60 surveillance cameras. With 400 inmates, the odds are stacked against her.

A Modern Twist on an Ancient Legend

Deo’s inspiration for “Savi” comes from the classic tale of Sati Savitri. This legendary woman defied all odds to fight for her husband’s life. But how does this ancient story translate to the modern world?

“In a way,” Deo explains, “Sati Savitri’s story has been ingrained in my system since childhood. When we set out to create a contemporary version, our biggest challenge was making mythology relevant today. We needed to simplify the narrative.”

And simplify they did. In “Savi,” the resilient protagonist faces off against a system akin to Yamraj—the god of death. But instead of mythical battles, she confronts the stringent British jail system, which proves even more challenging. The film’s premise is straightforward: a wife’s unwavering determination to break her husband out of prison.
