“Giggly Squad,” a popular podcast by Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo, won the 2026 iHeartPodcast Awards’ Podcast of the Year award. On March 16, 2026, at SXSW in Austin, Texas, comedian Ego Nwodim hosted a live ceremony to honor the best podcasts of 2025.
In the top category, “Giggly Squad” beat out nine other nominees, which was a big deal for the duo’s unfiltered talks about pop culture, fashion, dating, TV, and mental health. The hosts, who are known for their funny self-deprecating jokes, beat out popular shows like “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” “This Past Weekend with Theo Von,” and “Heavyweight.” Fans voted from January 14 to February 22, and the giggly queens won.
In her acceptance speech, Berner made fun of DeSorbo’s initial reluctance to podcast by saying she had “a face for television.” She then thanked their loyal fans, who they called “the gigglers.” DeSorbo thanked Berner for putting up with her habit of not answering emails, which showed how close they were. Berner celebrated the win by saying, “We’re so happy it’s 2026 and women can still have microphones.” This showed how happy she was about real podcasting and community support.
