Paltrow Partner Slams Dems on Trump Iran Strikes

Moj Mahdara, an Iranian-American Democrat who works with Gwyneth Paltrow, publicly criticized her party for being against President Trump’s airstrikes on Iran. She told Democrats to put national security ahead of their dislike of Trump.

Mahdara, who co-founded a business with Paltrow, went on CNN to criticize Democrats like Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib for speaking out against the strikes that killed Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei and President Ahmadinejad. She said that the regime’s possible fall would be like the “Berlin Wall” moment for global security, and she connected it to stability in Ukraine, Venezuela, and against China.

The strikes came after actions by the US and Israel, which caused a split between parties. Mahdara said, “I am incredibly disappointed with my party — I do not see myself in them.”

Mahdara stressed that taking down Iran’s government could change the balance of power in the Middle East and stop oil from getting to China, which is avoiding sanctions. Her plea, as a “massive Democrat,” shows that there are growing divisions within the party on foreign policy.
