Hudson Williams made a big splash on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, getting fans excited for his hit show Heated Rivalry. Fans who had camped out overnight outside NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza were already excited before the show started, and when Fallon introduced the 24-year-old Canadian actor, the crowd went wild. Fallon and Tariq Trotter from The Roots talked about the characters on the show before Williams even showed up. Chelsea Handler made fun of her fandom.
Williams started by opening a ginger ale and putting on glasses like his character Shane Hollander. He then called the fans who were waiting “freaks outside.” He talked about the difficulties of filming Heated Rivalry, saying that it was hard to create a rivalry on screen with co-star Connor Storrie (who plays love interest Ilya Rozanov) because they became best friends right away. The best part of the segment was when Williams taught Fallon viral hockey stretches and joked, “This is as good as it gets” and “Carson didn’t do this” while criticizing the host’s form live on stage.
Williams teased the highly anticipated second season of Teasing Heated Rivalry by saying there would be “some goodies” and “some baddies.” This time, the show will focus on conflicts outside of the characters’ lives instead of inside them. The breakout star’s appearance shows how popular the queer hockey romance series is on Crave and HBO Max. Fans can watch the full episode highlights on Peacock and YouTube for more Williams magic.
