Melbourne Goes Bollywood! Aamir Khan Kicks Off Indian Film Festival 2025.

Melbourne, August 2025 – The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025 is officially underway. It started with a serious dose of star power! A dazzling press conference brought together some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. There were also representatives from the Victorian Government to celebrate the festival’s opening.

Bollywood Royalty Takes Over Melbourne

We’re talking serious star wattage here! Bollywood icon Aamir Khan graced the event. Also present were the hilarious comedian and actor Vir Das, and the incredibly talented Tillotama Shome, Jim Sarbh, and Aditi Rao Hydari.

And it wasn’t just actors! Visionary directors like Shoojit Sircar, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and R.S. Prasanna (the man behind Sitaare Zameen Par) were also in attendance. The renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra was there. Additionally, Tanushree Das, director of Baksho Bondi, was present with her cast, as their film had the honor of opening the festival.
